To uphold our high standards, Sequoia administers a Quality Assurance
program, which consists of a monthly client review of each client and
consistent meetings with each employee. We also encourage all clients
to fill out evaluations, and/or to contact the manager of the company directly
with any comments or suggestions.
We would like to introduce you to our team:
Andrew P. Rauch, Owner
founded Sequoia In-Home Care Service in 1995, after experiencing two family situation which required in-home care services. Our family was surprised to learn how difficult it was to locate high quality home health care services. I started this company to fill the much needed niche of very high quality, personalized service, from a locally owned and operated company. I drew upon my experience in the health care field to start my own state licensed home care agency.
Previously I worked as a professional lifeguard, an emergency medical technician, and a paramedic. Prior to starting Sequoia, I worked for the US Department of the Interior in a bacteriological laboratory.
When I am not at work I spend as much time as possible with my bride and our three young sons. We enjoy being together, and being involved in outdoor activities. The boys especially love the beach. I am also an avid and experienced backpacker, love to sea kayak, and have enjoyed touring the West on my motorcycle. One of my most passionate past-times is gardening.
Paul Sivesind, Administrator
I began operating Sequoia in early 2007. Prior to joining Sequoia, I served as a Program Manager for a large in-home care agency. It was there that my interest for working in this field was sparked. I knew however, that I wanted to be able to interact with our clients and staff on a more personal level in order to build relationships and to ensure their needs were being met. Sequoia has allowed me to do this and I have enjoyed the refreshing change of joining this small, high quality company that prioritizes the needs of our clients and ensures the best care givers possible. It has been a great opportunity to participate in bringing Sequoia's commitment of excellence to our clients and staff.
I graduated from Seattle Pacific University and enjoy spending time with my family as well as traveling and being outdoors. When I am not at Sequoia you will often find me on a basketball court either playing or coaching. I have coached various ages over the past three years and am currently coaching Ballard youth with the basketball program Hoopaholics.

Carla Tobens, Office Manager
I joined the Sequoia team in May 2008 after making the big move from New Jersey to Washington. My prior career as a Recreation Director in brain injury, rehab, long term care, and adult daycare has given me the opportunity to work in many different health care settings. Sequoia is providing me the chance to see how people with challenges are able to safely and comfortably continue living in their own homes.
Now that I am living in the Northwest I have been greatly enjoying the outdoors. It's absolutely beautiful here and living in the city of Seattle has given so many opportunities to attend festivals, go to outdoor movies, eat organic and try lots of new restaurants. My husband and I have also joined the mountaineers and look forward to many weekend hikes and meeting new people.
