Dressing/Undressing Assistance
Aid with the daily tasks involved in dressing and undressing. We will gladly iron clothes, and deposit laundry in the appropriate place.
Personalized grooming assistance, hair care, nail trimming, denture care, application of skin lotions and salves, hearing aid and eyeglass care, first aid, and other personal tasks upon request.
Caring, reliable help on an as needed basis with the activities of undressing/dressing at bath time, bathing, drying, and grooming. Male and female care attendants when appropriate for this service.
Medication check service will help with the self-administration of dosages when our care attendants are present, check for adequate quantities of medications, and gather and report to a person of your choice information and concerns about medications. Client complaints and concerns about their medications will be gathered on a personal monitoring chart, and reported to a person of your choice. Pharmacy pick-up available.
A qualified Care Attendant will make regular drop-in calls on you or your loved one. This service provides a basic physical evaluation (basic physical, blood pressure, weight), medication check, assistance with household tasks, and a same-day verbal report to a person of your choice.
Our care attendants will empty hampers, load the washer and dryer, fold/iron clothes and linens, and change bedding. Sequoia will, at your request, drop off and pick up dry cleaning.
Meal Preparation, Light Housework and Gardening
Meal preparation to suit your dietary needs. Light housework: vacuuming, straightening of living areas, and keeping kitchen and bathroom areas sanitary. Light gardening: we will assist in the maintenance of garden areas, outdoor walk areas, and other garden tasks. Assistance with household tasks such as taking out the trash and recycling, changing light bulbs, and other indoor and outdoor tasks. This service will help with the basics of maintaining a safe and suitable household.
Companionship, News and Events
We provide companionship at a personal level. Great rapport with each and every client is our best approach to providing you with quality assistance. News and events will inform our clients of significant stories and inspire conversation. We are more than happy to provide companionship on a walk.
An endless list of activities either chosen by our staff, or upon your request (within reason, and depending upon availability). Day trip information will be available at least quarterly for other companies that specialize in such excursions. Books and books on tape from the Seattle Public Library are available and delivered by our care attendants by arrangement.
Pets are often a very important part of our lives. We want our clients’ pets to be well cared for. Pet care service will groom your cat or dog as needed, change the litter box or scoop up as needed, provide referrals to professional groomers for baths, and referrals for other veterinary needs. Occasional pet transportation provided at a low cost.
Sequoia can arrange for your scheduled personal transportation needs. Our Care Attendants can transport you to doctor, hair and other appointments, as well as provide assistance with shopping at the grocery store. We are happy to assist with transfers in and out of wheelchairs, lend an arm for support and make sure that you get to your destination safely.
Sequoia can assist with your needs 24 hours a day. Qualified care attendants will work in two or three shifts to accommodate all your needs. When your family needs respite or is planning time away from home you can depend on our outstanding and reliable staff to look after your loved ones in a conscientious manner. We can staff for your needs when you return home from the hospital or from rehabilitation. Advanced notice required.
Sequoia will provide you with a personal attendant that will give brief or infrequent care, with the assurance that a conscientious and qualified care attendant is nearby. 9pm to 7am (flexible).
Sequoia offers high quality services to those who may not live at home. Visiting Care Attendants will visit your loved one at a nursing care facility, assisted living center or other care facility to provide caring companionship and interaction. We offer trips out in our cars for pleasure or a change of pace.
Have a qualified care attendant review, prepare and record your periodic utility, medical, and other personal bills. We will notify a person of your choice with any concerns or problems that arise during the course of paying your bills.
Monitoring of blood pressure, and weight can be done at no additional charge as part of an Assistance Service call. Please let us know if a nearby loved one would like a verbal report periodically (no additional charge). We can give the report to a doctor’s office or a medical organization for a $30 written report fee.
Sequoia can provide you with other flexible services on request, or on an as-needed basis. Services are always governed by the Washington State Home Care Agency license.
